Gala Mitchell
Gala Mitchell grew up in the English Cotswold countryside: nature at its most magical. Later, in the 60’s, she lived in London, France, and Italy. Back then, she was a well known actress and model.
In the early 70’s, she moved to a small private island in the Caribbean with her family f 8 years, again surrounded by pristine and unspoilt beauty.
At the age of 38, she was looking for change again and a call to a more purposeful life style. She was directed to Colorado to study with the brilliant iconic teacher, Larry C. Short(Lar), author and teacher of Eastern meditation and a unique system of body work and trauma release. This has influenced her approach to healing the physical body that she has applied in her work, along with other learned techniques for 30 years.
Returning to the islands and still on this journey of self discovery and waiting for the next phase, she came into contact with the Bulgarian Master Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov and his philosophy of harmonious living with nature and the Divine World. She then became a live food practitioner under the auspices of Ann Wigmore and the Hippocrates Institute. She has always been sustained by a closeness with the earth and a simple life.
Later, the path lead to the Rebirthing community as illumined by Sondra Ray ,one of the founders of Breathwork, and Gala was introduced to the idea that “thought is creative” which has since informed her life. She is deeply involved with Shamanic studies. She lived in 2 spiritual communities, and for 25 years, she has surrounded herself with a community of like minded people and teachers.
Using her experiences and knowledge has proven transformational and practical whenever difficult issues have presented themselves. It continues to be an exciting life’s work and a joy to share .
Today, Gala lives here in Palm Desert and she is a Massage Therapist and a Breathwork facilitator-teacher in this amazing California desert area including Palm Springs, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells and Sun City.
